The fifth SPECT imaging agent is 99mTc-EC-guanosin, a new DNA marker that is incorporated into DNA/RNA syntheses. 99mTc-EC-guanosin will initially be studied as a tumor proliferation agent to differentiate benign and malignant prostate cancer. The agent will also have application in connection with colorectal cancer, lung cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma and sarcoma. The company plans to submit an IND application to the FDA in late 2005 or the first quarter 2006 for authorization to commence a Phase I clinical trial study.
